In 2007 I enrolled at Branford Hall to study massage therapy, and invested the next two years to applying myself to learning all I could about a variety of therapeutic massage modalities.  I graduated in 2009, and, while continuing to work as a dental assistant (a career of 15 years), began my career as a massage therapist.  In early 2011 I had the opportunity to be a part of a well-established therapeutic massage practice, and am very happy to be a member of  Team Atlantis. During your session, I focus on utilizing massage techniques that:

    • evoke deep relaxation and a positive emotional state
    • balance energy
    • improve circulation
    • enhance biophysical processes (such as strengthened immune system)
    • calm anxiety

The benefits of therapeutic massage are well documented and include:

  • reduction in muscle tension
  • improved sleep patterns
  • enhanced ability to cope with stress and anxiety

During my grandmother’s battle with leukemia, and particularly during the last few weeks of her illness, I was deeply struck by the power of touch to comfort and heal, even as a soul is passing from this life.  That experience was the catalyst that propelled me to explore the benefits of therapeutic massage, and led me to realize that a life change was in order; I knew being a massage therapist was in my future.

When not practicing massage, I enjoy jazzercise, dancing, and spending time with my dog Boo, my husband Ted, and our four children (Lisa, Thomas, Brendan, and Riley) ranging in age from 15 to 23, at our home in Mansfield Connecticut.
